And to celebrate (and to post something since I hadn't in ages) I've searched Second Life for some spooky attractions for you to try. Halloween is one of my most favorite times of the year. Scary castles and haunted houses, crazy puzzles and tales of mystery. I hope you all have an awesomely wicked Halloween this year. Stay safe, plenty more vampires come out around this time of year, myself included. >=3
When I heard that the MadPea 2 sim was closing this month, I was saddened. Thankfully, that sadness didn't last too long because MadPea now has a shared sim called "Hoshi Island". The look and feel of this sim is totally different than that of MadPea 2, as it has more of a cartoony look and feel to it. Most of the games that are on MadPea 2 still until it closes at the end of the month (Like the 'Escape The Room' series and The Kaaos Effect) are not on Hoshi Island and I'm not sure if they will be added or not. There are plenty of things to do on this new sim though. Right now there is a murder mystery and a quest to free a chained character. The puzzles are wicked and definitely fun to do. Also, even though MadPea 2 is closing, the sim which houses the awesomeness that is The Devil's Labyrinth will still be there because it's a separate sim. So, visit MadPea 2 while it's around and be sure to check out Hoshi Island.
This was a landmark given to me in-world by someone I met on Hoshi Island yesterday. When I teleported, to my surprise I found it's a maze. The maze is very well made, with switches and secrets galore. Some of the ways to get through it are very well hidden. I only got stuck twice, but thankfully there are some helpful clues to keep you going. The clues do cost 1L each, but I doubt that you'll get stuck all that often anyhow.
This is a whole sim dedicated to all things Halloween. There are tons of shops around with all sorts of goodies. In one of the bigger stores there is a small "haunted house" with some free boots and shoes to grab while you're in it. The "haunted house" isn't really stimulating, but hey, free stuff! Then there is Pirate's Cove which is a short boat ride you can take that leads to a pirate ship. Nothing too interesting there either, but it is interesting.
Next up is Cave of DOOM, and I admit I started it thinking it was lame. It's a slow start, but it does get a bit more challenging after the midway point. You get a free Transylvanian skybox for making it all the way through, which is pretty cool. Grab it quickly though or it'll disappear. Near the entrance to the Cave of DOOM is an off shore island with some awesome fireworks displays. Set your sun to midnight and give yourself a few minutes to watch in awe of the pretty lights.
I don't even want to ruin this at all for you. Go see it for yourself. Best ride I've been on in Second Life. You go through 20 different rooms and the ride lasts nearly 20 minutes. Really captures Halloween if you want my opinion. =3
This is what you get when you throw tons of rides to give you whiplash and make you nauseous, a creepy haunted house, and a spooky corn maze all in one area! Fun for the whole family! Parents, please remember check the candy before giving it to your offspring.
